Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Release Date And Full Specifications Surface

Samsung is soon going to launch a ruggedized version of Galaxy S7 with the moniker, Galaxy S7 Active. The smartphone has been in the rumors since several months and now its entire specifications have surfaced indicating that its release date drawing near.

In March, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active was found mentioned in the list of supported devices of Samsung Level app. This officially confirmed that the South Korean tech giant is working on Galaxy S7 Active. Venture Beat has come across the official specification sheet of the Galaxy S7 Active. It has revealed that the smartphone will be available in black and gold color options.

Last year’s Galaxy S6 Active has a thickness of 8.6 mm and it weighs 170 grams. However, the thickness of Galaxy S7 Active is 9.9 mm and it weighs 186 grams. The form factor of Galaxy S7 Active is larger than that of Galaxy S7 but both the smartphones feature same-sized screens.

The 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display Galaxy S7 Active will carry support for Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The device will be driven by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. Its internal storage will be 32 GB and it will also feature a microSD card slot. It will come preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be housing a 12-megapixel shooter on its rear side. It is said to be the same camera that is present on Galaxy S7 as it will come equipped with dual-pixel sensor that allows impressive image capturing in dim lighting conditions. The smartphone will also feature a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 will be packed with a massive battery of 4000 mAh capacity. The Galaxy S6 Active features a 3500 mAh battery. The S7 Active will be exclusively will be available through AT&T. Rumors suggest that Samsung Galaxy S7 Active release date is June 10 as the date is mentioned on the screen of the leaked renders.
