Samsung Galaxy S7: Photo, Specs, Features, Price And Launch Date Roundup
Evan Blass of @evleaks fame has confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge launch date as Feb. 21, 2016. As it turns out, after the February launch, the S7 handsets will be released on Mar. 11 in the U.S. and Europe, Sam Mobile reported. Now that we know the launch and release dates, let's take a look at the reported configuration details, price and photos of the S7.
Galaxy S7 price
In November, reports cropped up stating that the Galaxy S7 will cost lesser than the predecessor Galaxy S6. To be specific, the price of the handset will apparently be 10 percent lesser than the S6. Samsung’s decline in market share and profits has been quoted as the reason for the reduction in price.
To get a perspective, AT&T started selling the 32 GB variant of the Galaxy S6 way back in March 2015 at $685, without a contract, CNET reported. The 64 GB and 128 GB models, on the other hand, were sold at $785 and $885, respectively.
Galaxy S7 specifications, features
Based on the benchmark listing, the Galaxy S7 specifications could include a 5.1-inch display, aided by 1440p QHD resolution. Under the hood, this device will come powered by both Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 chipsets, depending on the region of release. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS will apparently run the handset, straight out of the box.
The S7 will reportedly sport a 12-megapixel BRITECELL primary camera, along with a 5-megapixel selfie-clicker at the front. When it comes to memory configuration, 64 GB of native storage has been tipped, while the microSD card slot is also likely to be back in the S7. The entire configuration will apparently be backed by a good 4 GB of RAM.
According to iGalaxyS7, this flagship will come housed with a battery capacity of up to 4,000 mAh. To top it off, rapid charging mechanism is believed to be part of the device.
