Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 Leak Reveals Features, Design
A new leak has revealed some details about the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2.
Following a recent “reveal” about a rumored Samsung Galaxy Watch 2, notable reporter of all things Samsung Sammobile released a new report to say that Samsung is working on a Galaxy Watch Active 2, and not a Watch 2.
The new leak is quite interesting considering that Samsung had just released the first Galaxy Watch Active a few months ago. Nonetheless, there’s nothing wrong with a tech company working on two devices in quick succession, especially as Samsung is also reportedly working on next-gen Galaxy Fold devices even when the first model is still nowhere to be found.
Galaxy Watch Active 2
According to photos leaked to Sammobile, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is a round shaped smartwatch with two buttons on its side. One of the buttons has a red circle in it, which seems to indicate that it might have a special function. Whether this will be for Bixby or not remains to be seen, since Bixby might not even be included in the new device.
The new Galaxy Watch Active 2 will also allow users to make and take calls from the watch itself. The watch has a microphone reportedly located between the two buttons. It also has two “slots” or openings on one side, likely for the device’s speaker. The devices are expected to have 1.5GB of RAM and 4 of internal storage.
On the front, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 features a full color display covered with Gorilla Glass DX. There’s also a “huge” heart rate monitor, which seems to imply that Samsung is making effort to give the new device heightened health capabilities, likely so that it can compete with the latest Apple Watch.
The Galaxy Watch 2 will have two models that are bigger than the older 38mm model. The two models numbered SMR825 and SMR835 will come in 40mm and 4mm sizes. Battery size will be 237 mAh and 340 mAh respectively. It is reportedly coming in three colors: silver, black and gold. Interestingly, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 photos reveal that it won’t have the rotating bezel ring.
These details aren’t confirmed at the moment as Samsung hasn’t announced anything about the device yet. As such, it’s better to take it all with a grain of salt.
