Samsung Gear S3, Classic To Launch On Sept. 1; Galaxy Tab S3 To Debut Same Day?
Just a week after launching the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung is now preparing for the debut of its newest smartwatches, the Galaxy Gear S3 and the Galaxy Gear S3 Classic. And it appears that the South Korean tech giant has already revealed the release date of the Tizen OS-running wearables.
Earlier today, Samsung rolled out its invitation for the Samsung Press Conference at IFA 2016. IFA is the leading trade show for home appliances and consumer electronics in the world and it is set in Berlin, and this year, Samsung is set to take center stage on the first day of September.
Though the invite does not include texts on what the South Korean tech giant is about to unveil to the public, the clock hands in the invite is enough to confirm that the Gear S3 and its classic variant are going to be introduced during Samsung’s conference. Furthermore, the Gear S3 is already expected to be featured at the IFA trade show, since its predecessor, the Gear S2, also debuted at last year's event, as per CNET.
Earlier rumors indicated that the Gear S3 is going to be announced in early September, and it seems that those rumors were truthful all along. Hopefully, the rumored features of the device will also coincide with what the it will be sporting when it launches.
The Galaxy Gear S3 is rumored to have a circular AMOLED display with a rotating bezel. The smartwatch is also expected to come with a GPS-based speedometer, an altimeter and a barometer, according to GSM Arena. The Gear S3 Classic is rumored to have the same features, but it will keep the classic timepiece design its predecessor has.
Aside from the Tizen-running smartwatches, Samsung is also rumored to be introducing its new Galaxy Tab S3 at IFA 2016. However, the South Korean brand has yet to give hints or confirm the existence of the tablet.
So far, rumors point at the possibility of the Galaxy Tab S3 borrowing plenty of features and design elements from the Galaxy S7. Trusted Reviews also stated that it hopes to see the Exynos 8890 chip to be the one to power the new Samsung tablet.
