Samsung inadvertently revealed its upcoming smartphone, the Galaxy S11, and leaked some interesting specs and features.

Korean tech giant Samsung recently revealed it is working on an upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S11. The device was revealed via a listing from China's CCC, which provides certification for a Samsung device that has the model number SM-G9860. The listing was first spotted by XDA Developers.

The device in question, believed to be the highly anticipated Galaxy S11, will come with some new features. These specs weren't usually featured in some of Samsung's flagships. If the certification is any indication, it's safe to assume that these will features will become standard for devices that will be released after this one.

First, the alleged Galaxy S11 will feature support for 5G. Forbes noted that the upcoming Samsung handset “should set the bar” for all smartphones next year, especially as all major smartphone makers, including Apple, will equip their offerings with 5G connectivity. Analysts believe next year's iPhones will have 5G.

Second, the alleged Galaxy S11 will feature support for 25-watt fast charging. While this is considerably faster than the 15W standard charging offered by the Galaxy S10, it's nowhere near the 45W fast charging Samsung introduced with the Galaxy Note 10 Plus.

XDA Developers noted that while it's good that Samsung will start offering faster charging tech as standard, it should do more to compete with other smartphone companies. Other smartphone companies like OnePlus, Huawei and Honor offer handsets with 40W charging, or higher, as standard. Samsung should follow the lead and offer better fast charging options on their devices.

Forbes speculates that the Korean giant might likely reserve 45W fast charging for a larger Galaxy S11 Plus. The feature might also be reserved for the Galaxy Note 10's successor. Whatever happens, it appears that 15W charging will be a thing of the past for the Korean tech giant.

Aside from working on fast charging tech, Samsung should also work on increasing battery life for all of its upcoming phones. Tests revealed that the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Huawei Mate 30 Pro both outlasted the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. The Korean tech giant will do well to improve its battery tech.
