Samsung Set to Bring in 5.3-inch Galaxy S2 Plus to Heat up the Smartphone Battle? HTC Holiday in Danger?
If rumors are to be believed then Samsung is set to release the Galaxy S2 Plus that will feature a 5.3-inch screen with 720p resolution.
An Italian blog, AndroidUp, said that the Samsung smartphone, the GT-i9220 or Galaxy S II Plus, may arrive by October.
The device is expected to feature a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, a large 5.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen and a next generation Android OS. The smartphone is a confirmed product of Samsung but the specifications are still being considered as rumors.
The initial rumors, based on a leaked roadmap, also discussed about a separate device, the i9210, which would represent the same hardware but for different markets or carriers, According to a Pop Herald report.
Previously, Images of HTC’s new Android-based smartphone -- expected to be called the Holiday -- were apparently leaked and picked up by several sites, including Engadget.
The rumored specifications said that the device will arrive with a 1.2GHz processor, a 4.5-inch qHD display at 960 x 540 pixel resolution. Previous rumors said that the device will also have 1GB RAM and an 8 MP rear and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. The smartphone may be released through AT&T.
The HTC Holiday also had a large CALIFORNIA sticker on its cover or on the back, which may mean that the device will be released in various parts of the U.S. with different cases.
