This Samsung Smartphone Has 5G, 45W Charging Capacity And An Affordable Price Tag
Samsung is said to be working on a smartphone that has 5G connectivity and 45W fast charging. Despite these specs, however, the said smartphone will be more affordable compared to the tech giant’s flagships that are currently available in the market.
According to a report from BGR, Samsung is doing something it has never done before: prepare a smartphone that has top-tier specs but an affordable price. The new smartphone, known as the Galaxy A90, is expected to have specs that would normally be found in more expensive models. The information comes from leakers who have a proven track record of revealing all things Samsung.
Leaker 1
According to leaker @OnLeaks, Samsung is preparing two Galaxy A90 models, both with a 6.7-inch display and in-display fingerprint sensors. One of these will have 5G connectivity and three cameras (48MP + 8MP + 5MP lens) at the back. The other model will be limited to 4G LTE, but will have Tilt OIS tech in addition to its three rear cameras (48MP + 12MP + 5MP lens).
The leaker didn’t explain what Tilt OIS means, but it’s likely to be some sort of image stabiliisation technology. This feature won’t come with the 5G model.
Interestingly, the leaker did not mention any front-facing camera. This is because the Galaxy A90 is supposed to come with a pop-up rotary design where the user slides the back of the phone up, and as the cameras are revealed they will rotate to become front-facing cameras. This means users will get the same quality of photos whether they are taking selfies or not.
Leaker 2
The other leaker, the notable tipster Ice Universe, said the Galaxy A90 smartphones will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Android Authority noted that this SoC also powers the Galaxy S10 line, as well as other flagships from other smartphone companies like the OnePlus 7 Pro, the upcoming Sony Xperia 1, the Asus Zenfone 6, and LG V50 ThinQ.
The Galaxy A90 is rumored to come with 45W fast charging. This feature is also said to come on the upcoming Galaxy Note 10.
Price?
While the price for these smartphones are unknown at the moment, a quick search on the internet yields results expecting the Galaxy A90 to be sold in India for Rs. 50,990, which roughly converts to $738.15 USD as of writing time. This price, even if it rises to $750, is still lesser than the $1299 selling price of the Galaxy S10 5G model.
