Samsung's New Flip Phone G9198 Comes With Snapdragon 808, 16MP Camera
Right after releasing the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 worldwide, the South Korean tech giant has silently introduced a flip phone named G9198 in China. This smart-flip-phone is apparently a flagship device of Samsung China.
As a China-exclusive device, this new phone is reportedly called as “领世旗舰 Ⅲ.” However, for clarity-sake, we are calling it “Samsung G9198” throughout the article.
Samsung G9198 apparently comes with two 3.9-inch Super AMOLED touch displays, bundled with 768p screen resolution, GSM Arena reported. Under the hood, this dual-display clad flip phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 chipset, in combination with a hexa-core processor. The device also comes with 2 GB of RAM.
When it comes to memory specification, the Samsung G9198 is equipped with 16 GB of internal storage capacity and microSD card slot for further expansion. The handset sports a 16-megapixel f/1.9 rear-facing camera unit with an LED flash in tow. In addition, there is also a 5-megapixel f/1.9 front-facing shooter unit to capture selfies. Meanwhile, it is worth reminding that, the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and the latest Galaxy Note 5 feature the same 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel camera unit as the primary and secondary snappers.
Apart from the standard connectivity options, the Samsung G9198 apparently supports 4G LTE. To top it off, the device also comes with heart-rate monitor and it supports dual-SIM. Lastly, the handset houses a modest 2,020 mAh battery unit to keep the lights on.
On the other hand, there is no official confirmation available to ascertain the availability of this flip phone outside of China. Nevertheless, readers can check out the incredible photos of the retro handset Samsung G9198 from Samsung China.
