Sarah Ferguson’s Reaction To Beatrice’s ‘Infamous’ Hat At Kate Middleton’s Wedding Revisited
Sarah Ferguson supported Princess Beatrice’s infamous hat at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding.
In 2011, Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter made headlines due to her eccentric headpiece when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge exchanged “I dos.” In 2013, the Duchess of York was asked about her thoughts of Princess Beatrice’s controversial hat.
“I think she’s so perfect in every way. I think Beatrice had the most incredible outfit on, she looked really good,” Ferguson said.
Although Ferguson praised her daughter’s look on that day, she said that she would have preferred another headpiece for her.
“I think if I’d been here, maybe I would have made sure that the hat, a couple of days before, was different,” Ferguson added.
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice topped the fashion flops in Prince William and Middleton’s royal wedding. Bridal stylist Camilla Ridley-Day felt that the two royals were trying so hard to look “fashiony.” Unfortunately, their choices didn’t work well for them.
Despite the criticism, Princess Beatrice reportedly had the last laugh on the critics. She was able to auction the controversial had and even raised $135,000 for a charity.
Meanwhile, Ferguson was in Thailand during the big event. The Duke and Duchess didn’t invite her to their big day. The duchess understood the couple and admitted that she watched it on television and it made her regret her poor choices.
According to Ferguson, she saw herself in Middleton when she walked down the aisle at 25 years old to marry Prince Andrew. The sight caused her to do a “great soul searching” and look back at her past choices.
Slowly, Ferguson was able to redeem herself. She got an invite to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in May. She was also invited to her daughter Princess Eugenie’s big day. The Duchess of York sat beside her ex-husband and Princess Beatrice during the event. They were a picture of a happy family during the event.
However, many noticed that the Duke and Duchess of York were not as affectionate to each other during the ceremony. According to insiders, the exes didn’t want to annoy Prince Philip who was seated behind them.
