Sarah Palin Brawl: Former Alaska Governor And Family Reportedly Caught In Drunken House Party Fight In Anchorage

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her family, including husband Todd Palin, daughters Bristol and Willow Palin and son Track Palin, were allegedly involved in a drunken fist fight at a house party in Anchorage, over the weekend, according to multiple accounts. The one-time vice presidential candidate, who launched her own TV channel in July, was asked to leave the party Saturday night after Track Palin and Bristol Palin attacked other guests.

“[Bristol] was punching him [another man] in the face like six times,” Eric Thompson, who was a guest at the party and witnessed the brawl, which occurred just before midnight, told ABC News. “It wasn’t a light punch either. She was really hitting him.”

Bristol Palin, 23, garnered media attention during her mother’s unsuccessful vice president run in 2008 after she became pregnant at the age of 17 with her then-fiancé Levi Johnston. She gave birth to her son, Tripp, in December 2008. Since then, Bristol Palin has appeared in several reality television shows including the fall 2010 season of “Dancing with the Stars” and the Lifetime show “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” in 2012.

Several local political bloggers reported the Palin family was at the house when the fight broke out, and the Anchorage Police Department confirmed the reports to the Washington Post. "Anchorage police responded to a report of a verbal and physical altercation taking place between multiple subjects," according to a statement released by police. "Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the incident."

A spokesperson for the police department said that no one had pressed charges and that no arrests were made, but “the case is still an active investigation.” The spokesperson confirmed that “some of the Palin family members were in attendance at the party.” The party was sponsored by the annual Iron Dog snowmobile race.

Eyewitnesses say the fight started when Track Palin, 25, spotted the former boyfriend of his younger sister, Willow Palin. Track Palin reportedly fought with Conner Cleary on the front yard until Cleary’s father tried to break them up. Todd Palin allegedly attacked the dad while Bristol Palin purportedly went after one of the party’s hosts.

“Word is that Bristol has a particularly strong right hook, which she employed repeatedly, and it’s something to hear when Sarah screams, ‘Don’t you know who I am!’” Alaskan politics blogger Amanda Coyne wrote Tuesday. “And it was particularly wonderful when someone in the crowd screamed back, ‘This isn’t some damned Hillbilly reality show!’”

Twitter users began posting Friday about the fight with the hashtag #Palinbrawl, sparking jokes about the Palins involvement.

Sarah Palin remained mum about the fight during an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity Show” Thursday night.
