Sasha Pieterse Calls ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Performance ‘Magical’ Ahead Of Elimination
Sasha Pieterse may have been eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars,” but that doesn’t mean the actress wasn’t completely thrilled about everything she experienced while on Season 25 of the show.
Ahead of her elimination, during Monday’s Disney Night, Pieterse revealed that her time on the show dancing with Gleb Savchenko has had a positive effect on her health. “We’re halfway through the competition and I’ve lost 37 pounds,” she said in a pre-packaged video of their dance rehearsals.
“It really is magical,” she continued.
Early on in the season, the Freeform star shared details about her battle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which caused her to gain nearly 70 pounds due to a hormone imbalance. However, Pieterse has managed to shed pounds each week throughout the competition.
By the second week of the dancing contest, the 21-year-old star revealed that she dropped 15 pounds and was feeling like herself again.
Following her Monday night performance, Pieterse received positive feedback, scoring 24/30 and shared how happy she was to be on the show. “Disney Night is so much fun, and it’s about imagination and creativity and following your dreams, and this is something that I never dreamt of, and I’m doing it and I love it,” she told co-host Tom Bergeron.
“I’m so thankful for this opportunity. It’s amazing,” she added.
Despite her elimination in week four, Pieterse remained upbeat about her time on the series and was ultimately grateful for the impact the competition had on her health.
“It was incredible. I knew that it was going to be amazing, but it totally blew my expectations away. I have had such an incredible time and I love everybody here, so obviously this is a very sad moment for me, but I’m just so thankful,” Pieterse, who received a standing ovation from the audience, said.
“I’ve had an amazing experience, and I’m so happy I got to share my story,” she added.
Fans shouldn’t feel too torn up over Pieterse’s elimination because the actress will have plenty on her plate following her “DWTS” stint. The star is set to reprise her role as Alison DiLaurentis in the spinoff series “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.”
The actress, along with “PLL and “DWTS” alum Janel Parrish will star in the series about five girls, Caitlin, Ava, Parker, Julie and Mackenzie from the town of Beacon Heights who initially have nothing in common but find out they all hate the most popular boy in school, Nolan Hotchkiss.
Nolan has not been kind to the girls and the five plan his hypothetical murder perfectly, but when he is actually murdered, the teens must scramble to figure out who the killer is before their lives are ruined.
“Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi,” the description reads.
Although “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” has not been ordered to series, the show has been given a pilot order by Freeform and considering “PLL” was the network’s biggest series, it’s only a matter of time before the spinoff is picked up for a full season.
