Savannah Chrisley is having a "really tough" time as her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley start serving their yearslong prison sentences.
On Tuesday's episode of her "Unlocked" podcast, Savannah said that her life was "falling apart" and that their family had an "extremely difficult" week after her parents reported to prison to begin serving their respective sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion.
"Last week was extremely difficult for my family as a whole and each of us individually," the former Miss Tennessee Teen USA told podcast listeners, Fox News Digital reported
"We kind of had to say goodbye to my parents for somewhat, for a little bit of time for the foreseeable future and that was really, really, really tough. I haven't filmed a podcast since then. The podcast that's going to be airing today that you're going to be watching was filmed prior to my life falling apart," she added.
Savannah explained that Tuesday's episode was pre-recorded and was actually filmed on Jan. 12, five days before Todd and Julie reported to jail.
"It may seem happy-go-lucky, and during that time, I think it's because there was a lot of hope that was had, and I wasn't faced with the reality of the situation," she explained. "So, I kind of just wanted to throw this in there to address that because I know a lot of people are going to be like, 'Woah, what is this?' And this was kind of pre-life falling apart. And now podcasts that I do moving forward will be post."
Savannah told her fans that next week's episode will be a "very intense one-on-one podcast with myself." She said she will give an update on where things stand and how her kids and her parents are doing.
"I'm really looking forward to giving that update because I've seen God work in the craziest of circumstances," she added.
Todd and Julie reported to separate prisons on Jan. 17 after being denied bail pending an appeal.
Todd is doing his 12-year sentence in Florida at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, while Julie will serve seven years in Kentucky at Federal FMC Lexington.
