‘Scandal’ Season 6 Spoilers: 4 Shocking Storylines To Watch Out For This Season
“Scandal” Season 6 kicked off with exciting twists in the lives of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) and Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young).
The same could be expected from Season 6, episode 2, titled “Hardball.” In the installment, flashbacks will reveal what happened prior to the election and how far Olivia was willing to go to make sure Mellie would become the next president of the United States.
Here are 4 other shocking storylines that will be featured in episode 2 onwards.
1. Olivia takes down Cyrus
Olivia is convinced that Cyrus was the one responsible for having Governor Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) assassinated. Unfortunately, President Fitzgerald (Tony Goldwyn) doesn’t believe her. To make things worse, the president has decided to endorse Cyrus as the new president of the country.
2. Governor Vargas’ real killer to be named
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Shonda Rhimes confirmed that Vargas’ killer will be revealed in episode 5 or 6. “That becomes clear. But as usual for ‘Scandal,’ the thing you think is the story is not really the story. You think you are going to be watching a story about who is president. Yes, that is interesting, but it doesn’t really have much to do with where we are going,” she said.
3. Mellie will still fight for the seat at the Oval office
In an interview with TV Guide, Young said that Mellie’s dream remains intact. Despite losing the recent elections, she is confident that better things are in store for Mellie because she has Olivia’s full support.
4. Huck gets a new love interest
Huck (Guillermo Diaz) may be devastated to see Quinn (Katie Lowes) say yes to Charlie’s (George Newbern) proposal. But this feeling won’t last very long because he will soon have a new love interest. “Someone’s coming into Huck’s life. He hasn’t had a partner in a long time – like a lover, or a girlfriend, or a wife for a while,” Diaz told Entertainment Weekly.
“Scandal” Season 6 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
