‘Scandal’ Season 6 Spoilers: Premiere Date Announced Alongside New Teaser Release [WATCH]
“Scandal” Season 6 fans will finally get the chance to see their favorite characters every Thursday night starting Jan. 19, 2017.
Just recently, ABC dropped the official teaser for the hit ABC series, which confirmed that the results of the presidential election will be part of the pilot. In the clip, a very anxious Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) awaits the results of the election. However, the waiting will get the best of Mellie as she tells Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) that she’s done being the president of the United States.
Meanwhile, the first 10 minutes of Season 6, episode 1 will be very crucial because big revelations are expected to be unveiled.
Previously, a shorter teaser already showed Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Quinn (Katie Lowes) approaching an empty cabin that suddenly blows up in front of them. In another scene, Olivia and President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) are fighting with each other. It is unclear what their discussion is all about, but the clip shows the two hugging each other in the end.
“Scandal” Season 6 was supposed to premiere around the same time as “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 and “How to Get Away With Murder” Season 3. However, the air date was pushed back to four months later to accommodate Washington’s second pregnancy.
While speaking with InStyle, the actress revealed that there have been tons of wardrobe adjustments so that her baby bump wouldn’t be seen on the show. “There’s nothing high-end for professional women who are pregnant, so for the show, we wind up just buying the same clothes. We will cut out the front of the Armani trousers and put in a pregnancy panel. That’s what we do for everything,” she said.
“Scandal” Season 6, episode 1 will air on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
