Sean "Diddy" Combs, who ruled the rap world in the 90s and early 2000s, is returning to the music scene with his own music label, Love Records.
Combs, alias Love, founded the R&B-focused Love Records with the support of the classic label Motown.
Love Records will be "dedicated to R&B music and will release singles and collaborative projects from a collective of world-class artists, producers and songwriters," the "I Need A Girl" rapper and producer said in a statement, ET reported.
"Music has always been my first love, Love Records is the next chapter, is about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life," he added. "For the label, I'm focused on creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers. Motown is the perfect partner for my album and I'm excited to add to its legacy."
Combs also signed a one-time album deal with Motown Records and will release a musical project under Love Records this summer.
Motown CEO and chairperson Ethiopia Habtemariam said the partnership is a "major moment for Motown."
"Diddy is one of this century's most important voices in music and culture; To be a part of his next evolution and album is nothing short of monumental," she added.
Combs will continue to oversee his long-running music label, Bad Boy Entertainment, while working on his new record.
Combs was one of the most successful producers and musicians in the 1990s and have worked alongside big names such as Mary J. Blige, the late Notorious B.I.G., Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Boyz II Men, Britney Spears, Kanye West, Faith Evans, Mase and Craig Mack. Aside from music, he is also an entrepreneur working for brands in fashion, television and liquor. He also appeared in a number of films such as "A Raisin in the Sun" and "Get Him to the Greek."
Combs is set to host the 2022 Billboard Music Awards (BBMA) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas coming Sunday. The "I'll be Missing You" rapper is also an executive producer for the event.
