Selena Gomez stunned the world by dropping her new album “Rare” earlier this month and it has already been labeled one of Gomez’s best works in recent times. But it was not easy for the musician to go through the process of making this album and so the moment she finished it, she felt a sense of accomplishment in her mind.
Speaking in an interview with Billboard, the 27-year-old singer revealed that making “Rare” was one of the most beautiful experiences in her life and she is really grateful that the album ended up becoming what she always wanted it to be.
Gomez further stated that she always wanted to make songs that can make people feel good about themselves and she thinks the album has managed to do just that.
“I wanted a record that made people feel something. Whether that was a hard relationship to get through or gaining your confidence back. So there are different layers to it, and I am so grateful that it ended up becoming what it is now,” Gomez said.
The album has received universal acclaim from critics as well as fans. Rolling Stone said that her third solo album is an “act of divine ruthlessness” and gave it four stars out of five. The song “Vulnerable” is turning out to be a rage among people and social media is buzzing with the reactions to that particular song.
Many people believe that the album is all about her struggles and her toxic relationship with her ex and fellow musician Justin Bieber. Although the “Good For You” hitmaker has not said anything on that matter, she believes that her single “Lose You To Love Me” became a medium of telling the world about all that has happened to her in the recent past.
During the discussion, she noted that she used to be really “terrified” of saying anything and protected the people who were never really there for her. But she realized that being silent was not the right thing to do and so what she did was throw all her emotions into the album.
“I was just done, you know. Just done being silent, and I felt like I deserved to have a moment for myself. When I wrote ‘Lose You To Love Me,’ I was kind of a mess. And by the time we shot the music video, it had a completely different meaning, and it was so freeing,” Gomez said.
Last week , the 27-year-old musician opened up about the special bond she shares with her followers and revealed that the journey she has gone through with her fans is something she will never forget and that is the reason she loves them so much.
“I love them (fans) because it has really been about the journey and I feel like I have grown up with a lot of people. The most heartbreaking conversations are where they are just telling me they are suffering,” Gomez said.
