Selena Gomez Heads To Mexico For The New Year Without Justin Bieber
Selena Gomez and her friends will be celebrating the New Year in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
According to E! News, the “Wolves” singer flew to Mexico with a group of her closest girlfriends via a private jet. Immediately after her arrival to the stunning resort city, Gomez and her pals went straight to their villa.
“She seemed very excited when she landed and was giggling with her friends and taking photos. They are all planning to do some fun dinners and spend New Year’s Eve together,” a source told the publication.
Meanwhile, Gomez was not accompanied by her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Justin Bieber. The “Baby” singer is in Canada and will be celebrating New Year’s in his hometown.
As of late, it is still unclear whether or not Bieber and Gomez are not in good terms so he didn’t join her on her trip. But it’s also possible that Gomez just wanted to go on an all-girls trip with her best buds.
Bieber also seemed to be having a blast in Canada, and a photo of the “Despacito” singer playing hockey in Ontario was recently shared via Instagram. In the snap, Bieber had a huge smile on his face.
Gomez and Bieber started hanging out again in October, but there are reports suggesting that their budding romance has not been sitting well with Gomez’s family and friends.
However, E! News clarified that Gomez’s mom’s recent hospitalization didn’t have anything to do with Bieber despite previous reports. “Selena has always said that the one person that means the most to her is her mom. But still, they’ve had a really complicated relationship and have gone through a lot of ups and downs,” a source said.
Mandy Teefey used to be Gomez’s manager, but they parted ways in 2014. “It caused a huge rift in their relationship. Mandy wouldn’t even let Selena talk to her sister for a long time,” the source added.
But Gomez and Teefey are in a much better place in their relationship at the moment. The two walked on the red carpet during the premiere of “13 Reasons Why” in March.
