Sennheiser Releases Momentum True Wireless 2 – An AirPods Pro Killer

Sennheiser first entered the truly wireless stereo headphones category with the Momentum True Wireless, a pair of in-ear TWS earbuds that feature great sound in a lighweight body.

That device, released in late 2018, was warmly received and praised for many things, primarily for its audio quality, great design, and overall performance. The Momentum True Wireless held its place against other rivals in the market, notably Apple's AirPods, Samsung's Gear IconX and Galaxy Buds, as well as offerings from Master and Dynamic, and Bang and Olufsen.

More than a year after its release, however, its rivals have newer, better models challenging its performance, indicating the need for an improved version.

Sennheiser saw that and released the new Momentum True Wireless 2, which is an improved version of the original model. This new version features new technologies that will give its rivals a run for its money.

An improved listening experience

The Momentum True Wireless 2 builds up on the audio performance of the original model and adds Active Noise Cancellation to it. This feature allows users to focus on their music and not on the noise around them. And by using Sennheiser's Smart Control app, users will be able to customize the settings according to their preference for an even better listening experience, Android Police reported.

The Momentum True Wireless 2 features passive noise isolation, which helps shut off outside noise. While this might make some users worry about not being aware of what's happening around them, Sennheiser's Transparent Hearing feature will allow them to hear noises in the surroundings without having to take the audio accessory off.

Users will also enjoy improved battery life on the Momentum True Wireless 2, which offers up to seven hours of playback per charge, extendable up to a maximum of 28 hours with the charging case. And as a plus, the charging case looks good, too.

More features

The Momentum True Wireless 2 also has other features that fans will appreciate. First, it is IPX4 rated to resist sweat, splashes and rain; offers support for Hey Siri and the Google Assistant; has support for Bluetooth 5.1, AAC and AptX standards; can be used even with just the right earbud on; and comes with the Smart Pause feature.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 will be available starting April for $299. It comes in a black version, but a white and grey color scheme will also be released at a later time.
