Serie A Club Plots Double Transfer Swoop For Forgotten Liverpool, Real Madrid Stars
KEY POINTS
- Inter Milan is planning to bolster its lineup at the end of the season
- Nerazzurri eyes Liverpool's Divock Origi as back-up for Romelu Lukaku
- Antonio Conte might also make a swoop for Isco from Real Madrid amid rumors of his release
Inter Milan could be vying for the transfer of two formerly notable stars outside Serie A.
Nerazzurri is still the best team in the Italian premier league, but the club still wants to cop a few prospects in the next transfer window.
As early as now, Inter Milan has already earmarked Liverpool attacker Divock Origi as Antonio Conte continues to hunt for a back-up striker, Italian soccer news outlet Calciomercato reported.
According to the report, Inter Milan is considering Origi as a viable alternative to the squad’s attacking trio of Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez.
The report further noted that Origi is said to have established quite a good relationship with Lukaku, his international side teammate, on and off the pitch. Inter, meanwhile, is looking forward to capitalizing on that by signing the Belgian forward.
Origi has fallen out of Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order with the Reds seemingly confident with their own version of front three in Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Atop that, the arrival of Diogo Jota even meant longer bench time for Origi, who ended up only playing nine English Premier League games this season.
The 25-year-old has yet to notch a goal in the current campaign but had a great season last year, having scored four goals to his name.
With Jota now back, the report added that Origi is likely to welcome interest from other clubs this coming summer and Inter Milan appears to be the first to keep tabs on him.
Aside from Origi, recent reports from Spain stated that Conte has proposed another ambitious transfer request to Inter’s high-ups. Apparently, the Nerazzurri boss has set his sights on Real Madrid star Isco, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
Isco’s current deal with Real Madrid is set to expire at the end of the season, and a renewal has been deemed unlikely after the midfielder became an outcast in Zinedine Zidane’s squad this season.
Isco is expected to be valued around the region of €20 million ($23.6 million). Though the said figure isn’t overwhelming, the report noted that Inter will be facing an obstacle in signing the Real Madrid player as the Italian outfit still owes Los Blancos money from the Achraf Hakimi deal, having been delayed in paying the installment agreement of the Moroccan’s transfer fee earlier this season.
