'Sex And The City' Meme Spurs Reaction From Sarah Jessica Parker And Chris Noth
Given the current pandemic as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, 2020 hasn’t gotten off to a great start. Seemingly in agreeance with this notion, Zoë Kravitz shared a comical meme centering on a photo from the infamous “Sex and the City” movie moment which saw Carrie Bradshaw strike long-time love Big with her wedding bouquet.
The Thursday post pokes fun at the year’s intensity by labeling Carrie as “2020” and Big as the respective individual sharing the meme, which in this case was Kravitz.
The “Big Little Lies” star captioned the post: “**accurate** note: big deserved to be hit by those flowers tho. and at least they're just flowers. __♀️_(#glasshalffull?).”
Sarah Jessica Parker, who is popularly known for her role as Carrie, chimed in on the reference to the 2008 film.
The 54-year-old replied: “Honored to be included in your feed. I love @chrisnothofficial but man did I love doing that scene. And in the end... x, SJ”
As press time, her comment had received over 8,000 likes and nearly 80 replies.
Among those to reply to Parker was Big himself, actor Chris Noth. Noth kept his reply simple and unamused with a straight-faced smiley emoji.
However, Kravitz was very amused before clearly stating whose side she was on.
“We allllll needed you to hit him with those flowers. #teamcarrie,” she added with a series of heart emojis.
Many fans also seemed entertained by the cinematic moment and left comments under Kravitz’s posts as well.
“I AM HUMILIATED,” one fan commented. “Best scene ever!”
“@sarahjessicaparker to this day this [scene] still gets me,” another user replied. “When I say you embodied a woman jilted by a man that she knew was [expletive] - magnificent”
The “Sex and the City” series aired on HBO for six seasons before its conclusion in 2004. All 94 episodes are now available to stream on Hulu. The original “Sex and the City” movie is available to watch for free for Xfinity customers via On Demand. The 2010 sequel film, “Sex and the City 2,” is streaming on Netflix.
