Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her own experience with sex and discussed her upcoming Netflix series "Sex, Love & Goop," emphasizing how sexuality helps bring up anything "unhealed" in a relationship, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

In the new show, couples will learn about different methods to please their partners and connect on a deeper level with help of the experts. Its first season is dropping on the platform Thursday.

According to Paltrow, she finds "this particular area of sexuality" interesting because it is going to create "friction" between the couples.

"Like anything that is unhealed is going to come up, anything that isn't working is going to come up," she told the outlet. "So, it's like this amazing opportunity to see in the microcosm of how you are in an intimate relationship, how is that impacting the rest of your life?"

She went on to explain that she was always "interested" in this topic and she always wanted to learn more in this area. The "Iron Man" star also asked questions like, "What is the shame that we carry, and why are we so afraid to ask for what we want?"

Paltrow also talked about her own experience with sex and urged everyone to stay really close to their own "truth." She explained when a person is in a relationship, they are not being themselves completely.

"You are sublimating things or you are white-knuckling through something, and I think it can be pretty damaging to how you feel about yourself," she said.

The actress also mentioned her teenage kids, Apple, 17, and Moses, 15, noting that she always encourages them to listen to their instincts. She shares her two children with her ex-husband Chris Martin.

"I try always to be neutral on the topic," Paltrow noted. "I think my generation, we got a lot of messages around sex that made us feel bad about it."

Besides being an actress, Paltrow is also known for her wellness and lifestyle brand goop, which she launched as a weekly new-age newsletter in 2008. The brand has grown a lot and faced numerous controversies due to its claims.

On the personal front, Paltrow tied the knot with writer Brad Falchuk in 2018.
