‘Shadow Of War’ New Gameplay Preview Shows Talion Riding Into Battle On A Drake
Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Interactive have released a short clip for “Middle-earth: Shadow of War” teasing its upcoming gameplay reveal. Although the clip was only five seconds long, it hints at the possibility of letting player ride a winged creature.
The five-second clip of “Shadow of War” gives fans a look at actual in-game gameplay. The video shows what appears to be an enemy Orc and protagonist Talion preparing for battle. However, what really caught the attention of fans was Talion seemingly riding a winged beast.
The creature might possibly be a Drake, as speculated by GameSpot. Talion is seated right on back of the beast as it starts to spit fire down on enemy forces.
It’s being speculated that riding a flying creature might actually be part of the new game mechanics of “Shadow of War.” The video is a teaser for the upcoming gameplay reveal, so it would make sense to showcase this new mechanic.
Although riding a Drake in “Shadow of War” would really be a great addition to the game, there’s a possibility that this might not be included at all. The preview clip could simply be showing a cutscene within the game and not the actual gameplay, as pointed out by Game Rant.
Luckily for fans, Warner Bros. and Monolith will be showing off the full gameplay trailer for “Shadow of War” this Wednesday on March 8. It will surely put all these speculations to rest and will undoubtedly make gamers excited to jump back into the world of Middle-earth.
“Middle-earth: Shadow of War” will take place right after “Shadow of Mordor” and will once again feature Talion and his Elven Wraith companion Celebrimbor. The two are attempting to turn Mordor against Sauron by forging a new ring of power.
“Shadow of War” is scheduled to be released on Aug. 22 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC. There’s also the $100 Gold Edition of the game, as well as the $300 Mithril Edition, which includes a 12-inch statue depicting the battle between a Balrog and a Drake.
