‘Shadowhunters’ Season 2 Spoilers: Dominic Sherwood On His Favorite Relationship On The Show

“Shadowhunters” Season 2 is here, and it’s going to be more action-packed than ever.

Aside from the heart-stopping fight scenes though, fans should also look forward to the relationships among the show’s characters. Fans already know that Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and Alec (Matthew Daddario) are parabatai. But the two have recently been pulled into different directions. Jace started something with Clary (Katherine McNamara), while something between Alec and Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) brewed. Sherwood remains a big fan of the bond between Jace and Alec, though.

Speaking of what he hopes would be given more time this season, Sherwood told Entertainment Weekly: “My favorite relationship in the show is the parabatai relationship between Alec and Jace… It’s tough for the two of them to come together so I’m hoping in the future that we don’t forget about the importance of the relationship because I really do think it’s written even in the books as the most profound relationship within this world, this unbreakable bond that’s for life.”

While Sherwood does not know how much of the relationship will be featured in the season, he did tease that viewers will be treated to a flashback to the characters’ parabatai ceremony.

Daddario has also opened up about how his character will react to his parabatai’s disappearance. The season will start with Jace being a captive of Valentine (Alan van Sprang).

Speaking with Accent TV, as quoted by Blasting News, Daddario said: “He doesn’t like it. He’s not handling it well. He’s not himself at all. [Part of himself] is missing. He has no way to handle this. He doesn’t know how to deal with it at all. He doesn’t know who to turn to.”

Jace’s disappearance will be just as hard for Clary, too. Despite not knowing where to find Jace, however, Clary will be a much stronger person than she was last season. McNamara told VVV magazine that fans will be surprised with how much her character has changed since it was introduced.
