‘Shameless’ Season 5 Spoilers: New Promo Video Released; Watch Trailer For The Premiere Episode, ‘Nectar Of The Gods’
The Season 5 premiere of “Shameless” is so close to airing we can practically smell the liquor on Frank’s (William H. Macy) breath! That’s right, everyone’s favorite Chicago family will be returning to the small screen on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015. And according to a recently released trailer for the upcoming season, the Gallaghers will be getting into more shenanigans than ever before.
The newest Season 5 promo, soundtracked to the upbeat single “Take Back the Power” by the ska/punk band The Interrupters, begins with Frank discussing the hoity-toity changes occurring to the South Side of their city.
“Yoga studios, gastro pubs – it’s the decline of civilization as we know it,” Frank says as he lines up four shot glasses, which we could only assume are for himself. But little do the Gallaghers know the grand openings of a few new businesses would be the least of their problems
Fiona (Emmy Rossum) reveals in the following scene that South Side residents are being offered “premium prices” for their homes. But the Gallagher patriarch is determined to prevent his town from turning into a cultured community. Instead he comes up with a plan to “show them what the hood is really like” by having his sons shoot down an organic coffee shop. Will his menacing strategy scare off the newcomers? Or will Frank and his family be the ones left shattered when their town is taken over by kale-eaters?
The remainder of the one-minute trailer teases a slew of other exciting plot points from Fiona being released from her ankle monitor, to Ian (Cameron Monaghan) and Mickey’s (Noel Fisher) blossoming relationship. But out of all the wild Season 5 happenings, we’re most looking forward to see what will happen when Fiona finds out Jimmy (Justin Chatwin) is back in town. Hint: It’s not going to be pretty!
