Shep Rose Apologizes After 'Snarky' Comment On Dwayne Johnson's Franchise
A sort of Twitter feud started to brew between Shep Rose and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson after the former dissed the “Fast and the Furious” franchise. The feud appears to have ended with Rose apologizing for his comment, hoping to stay on the good side of Johnson.
The trouble began when Rose wrote on Twitter that he doesn’t know a single person who watches “Fast and Furious” movies and yet they keep making new films from the franchise. He wondered who pays to go and watch these movies in the theaters. One of the people who read that tweet was Johnson himself.
Johnson plays the role of Luke Hobbs in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Replying to Rose’s comment, Johnson pointed out that the franchise has made over $5 billion over the past few years globally. He also said that one of his friends who watches these films is Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Seeing that Johnson himself took the time to reply, Rose was quick to correct his comments. In another tweet, he expressed surprise that The Rock would reply to his “snarky” tweet. He retracted his earlier statement and promised to binge watch all the “Fast and Furious” movies consecutively.
“Anything to keep The Rock on my good side,” Rose wrote and wished Johnson the best of luck.
Johnson is currently busy promoting his new film “Hobbs & Shaw,” which is the first spin-off film from the “Fast and the Furious” franchise. The actor recently posted a new trailer of the film on Twitter and asked the fans to get ready with the popcorn and tequila to enjoy.
“We have the baddest bad guy & biggest showdown,” Johnson teased. The villain in “Hobbs & Shaw” is Brixton (Idris Elba), a man who is bullet proof and has near superhuman strength. Hobbs and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) are former rivals who have to come together to take on this new enemy together.
