'Shibarium When': Poll Reveals Shiba Army's True Sentiment Toward Project's Launch
KEY POINTS
- A recent poll revealed what the Shib Army thinks of the Shibarium launch
- Majority of the respondents do not want to rush the Shib Inu developers
- SHIB was trading down 3.79% at $0.000009707 as of 2:30 a.m. ET Thursday
The Shib Army has spoken up about the highly anticipated launch of Shibarium in a recent poll. Amid all the fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) that some investors spread online, it is surprising to learn how the community truly feels about the unknown release window of the project.
With "Shiba Eternity," the first collectible card game (CCG) of the Shiba Inu, already out, the next project on the to-do list of developers is the Shibarium. The layer-2 solution believed to provide improved speed and efficiency to the community does not have a release date to this day, and this has led to some critics voicing out their strong opinions on the devs and Shibarium itself.
Meanwhile, Lucie (more popularly known as GossipShib), who used to be a Shiba Inu Growth Breed member, conducted a poll to take the pulse of the Shib Army. The poll, launched a few weeks ago, asked members of the community if they were "patiently waiting and don't mind a few more weeks for #Shibarium" and offered choices such as: "Yes, let's not rush devs," "No, I'm mad" and "If tokens pump I'm ok."
More than a thousand community members responded to the poll, and the option "Yes, let's not rush devs" won with 69.7% of the total votes. The choice "If tokens pump I'm ok" got second place with 15.5% of votes, while the one that said "No, I'm mad" got only 14.8%, therefore landing on the third and final spot.
Based on the outcome of the poll, it can be said that many members of the Shib Army, a community made up of loyal and fierce members who would fight fudders that love to spread FUD, understand what the development team is doing and they are fine with the waiting game as long as the devs would make the project worthwhile.
On the other hand, it also reveals that some investors can't wait much longer and are simply eager to see the project launched as soon as possible.
In the middle, there are investors who support the development team as long as it benefits their interest which, in this case, is the increase in the price of the altcoin.
GossipShib's initiative of conducting the online poll to find out the real sentiment of the community champions the ideology of Ryoshi, the creator of the Shiba Inu altcoin. Ryoshi earlier said in his woofpaper (Shiba Inu whitepaper) that since Shiba Inu is a community-driven project, the best way to take the pulse of its community's members is by conducting polls.
Out of curiosity, International Business Times reached out to GossipShib and asked some questions, one of which was why she conducted the online poll for Shibarium.
"To prove that few complainers and their posts are not representing the Shib Army's sentiment and most investors fully trust Shiba developers and are willing to wait for perfect product," the content creator said in response.
Like many other Shiba Inu holders, she is "very excited about Shibarium," believing that "it can make a big noise in the crypto scene, just like SHIB."
Shibarium, based on the general holders' sentiment, is believed to send the price of the Shiba Inu "to the moon," a crypto speak that means a massive surge in the asset's value.
"It's not going to pump to the moon. It is going to build on the moon and later go for Mars - 0.01," GossipShib answered when IBT asked if she thought Shibarium would "moon" Shiba Inu's price.
GossipShib is no longer connected with the Shiba Inu Growth Breed team, but despite this, she is still very active in the community. She also shared that although she left for "personal reasons," her confidence in the devs has not changed.
IBT then asked if she's been getting paid for her efforts in the Shiba Inu community.
"I have never been paid to promote Shiba," she said.
And when asked about the pseudonymous Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama, she answered, "Shytoshi Kusama is one of the kindest hardworking people I have met. I thought he is a dreamer but I later realized he is a visionary. I am not afraid to confront him. He is very open-minded and Shibarmy is very lucky to have him."
The poll, according to GossipShib, is also a reflection of the kind of people investing in Shiba Inu.
"I think Shibarmy is slowly filling up with very experienced investors — not just moon boys. Who wants to see a successful product and think long term," she said.
Shibarium is one of the many projects the Shiba Inu team is currently working on, but as mentioned earlier, it has no definite release date yet.
SHIB, the native token of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, was trading down 3.79% at $0.000009707 with a 24-hour volume of $706,735,177, based on the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
