The new iPhone 11 Pro brings a few enhancements to the iPhone XS. Some of the new device’s features are indeed tempting, like the new triple-camera setup (which will have a software update after some time), and longer battery life. These features alone make switching from the iPhone XS to the iPhone 11 Pro very enticing.

That said, some of the new iPhone’s features, like improved connectivity, aren’t really worth spending that much on. Here’s a quick look at the differences between the iPhone XS and iPhone 11 Pro to see if it’s worth the upgrade.

Camera

As mentioned, the new iPhone 11 Pro has three cameras, which is a major upgrade compared to the two rear cameras onboard the iPhone XS. The new device now features a, ultra-wide angle camera that allows for excellent wide angle shots. The new camera also features Night Mode for low-light photography, and will have the Deep Fusion mode in a future software update.

The new rear camera setup appears to be the biggest upgrade the iPhone 11 Pro has over the iPhone XS. Those who earn their keep from mobile photography will do well to invest in it.

Battery life

This is a no-brainer. People who are always on the go and need to stay connected will benefit from the iPhone 11 Pro’s battery which is rated to last four hours longer than the battery on the iPhone XS. Those who can’t simply afford to get the newer device which costs at least $999, however, can simply purchase a Mophie Juice Pack for the iPhone XS.

Display

The iPhone XS, released last year, was considered to have the best display in any smartphone during its time, iPhone Hacks reported. Apple decided to improve on that with the new Super Retina XDR display on the iPhone 11 Pro. The new display has improved contrast ratio (2,000,000:1 versus 1,000,000:1), has higher brightness (800 nits versus 625 nits), and has more viewing angles.

Connectivity

The new iPhone 11 Pro features Gigabit LTE and Wi-Fi 6 support. The iPhone XS has Gigabit LTE but no Wi-Fi 6 support. While that may sound like it’s a big deal, it actually isn’t enough reason to upgrade to the newer device.
