'A Show-Stopping Christmas' Lifetime Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
The Lifetime Christmas movies continue with the premiere of "A Show-Stopping Christmas," starring Jamie Perez and Thomas McDonnell, on Sunday night.
Fans will be treated in this film by their first introduction on Lifetime to both of the film's stars, who have yet to appear in projects on the network. Of course, fans might know them from elsewhere. Perez is best known for roles in "We Can Be Heroes" and "Confused By Love." McDonnell is known for appearances on various TV shows, including "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist," "Good Girls" and "LA to Vegas."
So what can fans expect from this film? According to a synopsis, attempts to save a theatre will lead to some unexpected romance this holiday season.
"Riley Burdett (Perez) is the artistic director of the Onota Theatre in Western Massachusetts," the synopsis reads. "When Regina, the Scrooge-like owner of the theatre, breaks the news that she's preparing to sell the property before the holiday performance, Riley must call upon the ghosts of Regina's past, present, and future to change her mind."
Adding to the craziness, the town gets a very surprising face moving into its midst.
"Meanwhile, a big TV star, Sam Palmer (McDonnell), has moved to the area to escape the craziness of Hollywood," the synopsis continues.
However, Sam's arrival could be just what Riley needs to save the beloved theatre—and fall in love.
"Riley casts him as Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol and his star power, his cleverness, and his budding love for Riley helps her save the theatre," the synopsis teases. "...and steal her heart during this very special Christmastime."
"A Show-Stopping Christmas" airs Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
