Simu Liu Calls Marvel Star Benedict Cumberbatch 'Sexy Father'

Simu Liu, who is all set to drop his upcoming Marvel movie "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" Friday, took to Reddit Tuesday to praise Benedict Cumberbatch.

The 32-year-old actor did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session with his fans on Marvel's subreddit.

A fan asked Liu, "What is one thing you could not have foreseen or prepared for since the news broke of your casting that is less obvious to fans of the franchise at large?"

"The warm and comforting feeling of Benedict Cumberbatch's hand on my shoulder at Comic-Con. Like a supportive but also sexy father," he replied and shared a group photo in which Cumberbatch, 45, kept his hand on Liu's shoulder.

One of the fans in the comments section recalled Cumberbatch doing AMA on Marvel's subreddit previously and noted, "My previously favorite AMA was done by Benedict Cumberbatch, and now I deeply want to see you two doing interviews together. You have the same chaotic feel."

Another fan noted, "This is what my first thought is every time a non-A list actor comes to the MCU. Must be such a great experience. The MCU truly has built an amazing thing."

One of the fans shared the screenshots of the same on Twitter.

This is not the first time when the actor praised the "Doctor Strange" star.

The actor appeared on "Pop Culture Spotlight with Jessica Shaw" Monday and talked about his experience in San Diego Comic-Con held in 2019.

"Four days after I was cast I was at Comic-Con but basically, we all got ushered onstage to take this group photo and I feel this hand on my shoulder," Liu said. "It's Benedict Cumberbatch. Doctor Strange has his arm around me."

Liu also revealed what exactly Cumberbatch told him on the stage during the group photo.

"[Cumberbatch] said, 'Welcome, welcome, I'm so happy for you,' and literally that picture was taken in that second. It's immortalized forever somewhere."

On the work front, Liu will lend his voice to the animated series, "Corner Gas Animated" and the television series, "Star Wars: Visions." He is currently filming "Arthur the King" while his other movie "One True Loves" is under pre-production.
