Sister Pranks Brother With Dissolvable Shorts, Leaving Him Naked On Public Beach
A Tennessee woman played a prank on her brother and posted a video of it on TikTok. However, many social media users refused to laugh along and chided her for the “cruel” joke.
Dara Roberts gifted her brother, Seth, a pair of swimming shorts and told him she found it “at a Goodwill.” What she did not tell him was that the shorts were “dissolvable” and would melt away in water, according to New York Post.
Suspecting nothing, Seth wore the blue bathing shorts on a family trip to the beach. The clip Dara posted on TikTok captured Seth frolicking on the busy shore before racing into the water. Blissfully unaware of what’s going on, Seth throws around a football whilst in the water until he realizes something is not right with his shorts.
“My swimming trunks ripped… bad,” says Seth in the clip as confusion and dread spread across his face.
As he stands in the waves, Seth continues to panic until his shorts completely wither away. He pleads with others in the group to get him another pair from his room while his sister continues to laugh at her brother’s misery.
“Quit videoing me. I’m serious,” Seth says. “I’m naked!”
“We still haven’t told him the truth. Seth, if you see this. I’m sorry,” Dara wrote on TikTok as she posted the clip.
The video racked up a jaw-dropping number of 28.8 million views. Many commented on how the prank crossed the line and called it “humiliating,” “traumatizing,” “sick” and “illegal.
“Funny in a backyard pool, but not in a PUBLIC place with your sibling,” one user said while another wrote, “This is more embarrassing than funny. He sounded genuinely upset.”
“A big loss of trust,” one social media user said. “You literally made him commit a crime," another said. "There is a child nearby."
Dara later responded to the comments, according to Texas News Today. “My brother is fine. He thought the video was hilarious,” the sister said, adding: “He actually thought it was more interesting than everyone in us thought.”
The backlash she received included people leaving comments that said they were “going to kill her,” Dara said.
“I wouldn’t even say this to my worst enemy, and you’re telling it here to a stranger on TiKTok,” she said in response.
