‘Sister Wives’ Cast Still Unpopular In Flagstaff As They Continue Fighting ‘Ups And Downs’
They moved to Flagstaff in 2018, but it appears two years in the Northern Arizona city haven’t been very kind to the “Sister Wives” cast.
Not only did the family face many financial struggles as a result of their move, but it appears that they still aren’t finding support in the community either, with Kody himself admitting to The Sun that they weren’t well-liked.
“We’re not popular around here,” he told the publication, which reportedly also spoke to a neighbor who said that they weren’t fond of the Brown family.
“We wish they weren’t here because they make Flagstaff look as though everyone has all these wives,” the neighbor said.
The family’s lack of popularity is only the latest blow to their lives in Arizona. Their struggles in the new city were chronicled on the last season of their show, which aired earlier in 2020. In that season, fans watched as they struggled to sell the homes they left in Las Vegas and dealt with constant issues with their rental properties in Flagstaff, forcing a number of moves. Financial constraints also prevented them from building on their property on Coyote Pass, where they planned to build four homes, but have yet to utilize the lots.
In addition, the season appeared to show Meri and Kody still struggling with marital problems that came to a head after their 2014 divorce and Meri’s subsequent Catfishing scandal. As rumors surfaced at the beginning of the pandemic that Kody was only quarantining with Robyn in their home and not really seeing his other wives or children, more speculation continued to mount that he and Meri were facing major problems.
However, Meri has since taken to social media to squash reports that she has a foot out the door, revealing in a post on Instagram Sunday that she was still in her marriage and had no intentions of leaving the family.
“Let’s just clarify something here. I love this man...My relationship with him is MY relationship with him. Sure, we’ve had ups and downs through the years (I mean, isn’t that somewhat normal?) High highs and low lows...but here’s my truth. I love him, I love my family. I’m committed,” she wrote. “I have 30 years in this. We struggle. We communicate. We repair relationships as the parties involved are willing and able.”
“I’m an independent person who does her own thing. I travel a lot. (Well, pre-covid that is.) I have multiple businesses. I have many friends. I have male friends, (Gasp! Shocker!) and I won’t apologize for that,” she added. “...I’m here. I’m committed. I’m not going anywhere. Don’t get your hopes up on that.”
As for the family’s future on TLC, the network which airs their reality show, it is still unclear if they will be back for another season. Fans speculated about the show’s fate prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, which halted filming earlier this year. Nothing has been announced in regards to a new season airing in January, which is usually when the show makes a return with new episodes, but announcements in regards to new episodes usually arrive a few weeks prior to a start date.
Depending on if production resumed, or how much was shot before the shutdown this Spring, fans may have to wait for new episodes.
