‘Sister Wives’ Star Maddie Brown Reveals ‘Major Gifts’ Daughter Got For First Birthday
It’s been a year since she welcomed her daughter into the world in a dramatic fashion, and now, following Evangalynn Kody Brown’s first birthday, “Sister Wives” star Madison Brown Brush has revealed that following the celebration, her daughter underwent some extensive surgeries related to her medical conditions.
Maddie, the second child of Kody Brown and his second wife, Janelle, took to Instagram August 24, four days after her daughter’s first birthday, to reveal that Evie, her second child with husband Caleb Brush, who was born with FATCO (Fibular Aplasia, Tibial Campomelia and Oligosyndactyly) Syndrome, had undergone an amputation which would help pave the way to improvements in her life going forward.
“Evie received some major gifts for her 1st birthday. Her surgeon laid the groundwork for her new foot and mobility it will bring, by way of a boyd amputation,” she captioned an image of her holding her daughter, who has a bandage on her leg where the amputation took place. “Another gave her some extra mobility in her hand, by clipping her webbing she had in her right hand. She is home and is recovering beautifully.”
As a part of her FATCO syndrome, when Evangalynn was born, she was missing a thumb and a toe, one leg was missing a fibula, two fingers were fused together and she had a bowed tibia.
Fans of “Sister Wives” watched the dramatic events that unfolded at her birth during the season finale of the show which aired on TLC in April. At the time, Christine and Janelle Brown were present at the birth and both showed emotion, as did Maddie’s husband, Caleb, as their daughter was rushed from the birthing center Maddie had gone to by ambulance to a hospital.
A couple of months after her birth, Maddie opened up about the situation to People Magazine, revealing in October that her daughter had been born with the rare disorder. She also revealed that while they didn’t know the extent of what was going to happen, they knew something was wrong after her 28-week ultrasound.
