‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown & Janelle Talk Family Separation, ‘Day By Day’ Process
They moved to Flagstaff, Arizona and basically started to live separate lives in homes around the city, a big change from what they previously had in both Lehi, Utah and Les Vegas. However, the Brown family from “Sister Wives” is still working on keeping their clan together as a unit, after the cracks quickly surfaced in the Season 15 premiere of their TLC show.
During the episode, Kody and his four wives—Keri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn—gathered for a lunch together at Janelle’s request, where she questioned the commitment they all had to the family and each other and voiced her concerns about separation ripping the family apart.
It led to a tense conversation between the wives and Kody as they all revealed their different issues. As Janelle admitted she started to feel problems when they lived in the different houses in Las Vegas, Robyn also began to question if that meant the family’s problems began when she joined them. At the same time, Meri admitted that she had like their Vegas living arrangements, and she’s been more isolated since heading to Flagstaff because she has no community there, while Christine laid perhaps one of the biggest bombshells—she still experiences jealousy that she shares her husband.
“I’m really sorry—I still get jealous,” she said. “I still get super, super, super jealous and I’m really, really sorry.”
Following the multiple admissions during the episode, all but Christine took to Twitter to explain their positions and address some of the fan questions, and while Meri may have revealed she felt isolated in Arizona, Kody slammed the idea that the move was the reason for the problems they all had, stating that it only seemed that way to viewers.
However, the bigger concern that fans felt needed addressing was the fact that the family has been splintering, and when one fan brought that up to Janelle, she addressed the concern head-on, admitting that they did struggle—and more forced separation because of COVID-19 has added to the stress—they are still working on fixing their issues.
The family’s continued issues, especially with the onset of the pandemic, will continue to play out throughout the season.
“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
