KEY POINTS

  • Paedon Brown said "abrasive" is not enough a strong enough word to describe Meri Brown's behavior
  • He pointed to sister Maddie Brown's 2019 tweets suggesting Meri was "abusive" and a "monster."
  • He claimed their father Kody was not aware of the alleged situation "for several years"

Paedon Brown made a series of allegations about Meri Brown in the wake of her split from his father, Kody Brown.

The 24-year-old son of Kody and Christine Brown shared his thoughts about Meri during a YouTube Live with John Yates Wednesday after a commenter remarked that she seemed "abrasive and kind of mean."

Paedon claimed that his dad's first wife wasn't very welcoming when they were growing up.

"Abrasive and kind of mean are not strong enough words, they are not aggressive enough words," the "Sister Wives" star said, People reported. "Meri was not nice... Abrasive is not enough of a word to explain what Meri was to a few of us children specifically."

Paedon went on to allege that Meri's behavior "moves so far past verbal" that "verbal basically stopped existing." He did not specify his comments further.

But he pointed to sister Maddie Brown's 2019 Twitter feud with Meri as proof that he wasn't the only one who thought this way. The 27-year-old daughter of Kody and Janelle Brown suggested at the time that Meri was "abusive" and a "monster" before deleting her account.

"I can reiterate what Madison said about Meri," Paedon said. "No, we were never safe around her."

Paedon said that his father was not aware of the alleged situation "for several years." He credited Kody's fourth wife, Robyn, for bringing the alleged issues to light.

"I will never hate Robyn because she opened several eyes and because of that, I will never hate her," Paedon said, explaining, "Robyn was in an extremely abusive relationship with her ex" before she married Kody and joined the polygamous family.

"When you were in an abusive relationship and you now see the signs ... After having experienced a negative relationship, she knew how to find other negative relationships," he continued. "Robyn probably saved several of our lives. Not definitely, but very maybe."

Paedon declined to go into detail, saying that their TLC show is "still a financial option for my parents, for all five of my parents and many of my siblings, so I'm not going to do anything that would hurt the show." However, he hinted that he would share more when the show comes to an end.

When asked if Kody was ever abusive, he insisted that was not the case. However, he did claim that "sometime between [when I was] 12 and 15, he stopped being safe."

Paedon also alleged in the interview that Kody tried to collaborate with TLC on contract clauses that would prohibit anyone from saying "anything negative about him on our platforms."

He said that he first heard about it from his mom, Christine, who allegedly told Kody, "You can't control our children."

As for his relationship with his dad, Paedon said the last time he heard from him was in a "Christmas text," but he hopes to mend fences with him in the future.

"Full disclosure, I'm still hoping to get my father back," he added.

Kody and Meri confirmed their split earlier this week, several months after he and Janelle decided to call it quits.

"After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship," Meri and Kody said in a joint statement on Instagram Tuesday.

Christine Brown exited the polygamist relationship in November 2021, leaving Kody with just one wife, Robyn.
