Is ‘Sister Wives’ Star Kody Brown Only Quarantining With Robyn?

It has often been floated that “Sister Wives” star Kody Brown prefers to spend the bulk of his time with his fourth wife, Robyn, and quarantine orders have only led to more speculation that the patriarch is staying away from his other wives and kids as he stays with his “favorite wife.”

Kody was seemingly absent during two recent big events for wives Christine and Janelle and the kids he shares with them. While his daughter Ysabel is no longer able to celebrate her senior prom due to quarantine measures from coronavirus, she posted to Instagram on Monday to show that she still made good use of her prom dress. The Sun US reports that the post initially tagged her mother and sister—but not her father, suggesting he may not have present for the photoshoot.

Similarly, Janelle took to social media recently to share the news that her son Hunter was home for the summer, but a meal with him and his brothers, Gabe and Garrison, also seemed to be missing their father.

This comes shortly after fans took to Reddit to state that Kody’s absence in most of his other wives’ social media posts seemed to suggest he was staying with Robyn, and that the excuse would be because she has the youngest children, and therefore needed more help.

It is worth noting that Kody did surface on Christine’s Instagram in mid-April however, for their daughter Truely's birthday.

This isn’t the first time it has been speculated that Kody was keeping his distance from his other wives in favor of Robyn, as reports surfaced in 2019 which suggested he had moved into Robyn’s home and hadn’t been seen at his other wives' residences even once.

“It appears Kody’s official home base is wife Robyn’s house,” a source said in May 2019. “He didn’t go to another wife’s home for almost a week. It seems Robyn is his true wife. The rest are just living their own lives!”

The family has not addressed the allegations, but they did open up about how they were handling quarantine to Us Weekly earlier in April. While Kody didn’t reveal he was quarantining with one wife over another, he did indicate that they were all staying apart due and social distancing because of fears about the virus.

“We’ve severed family gatherings completely. I’ve been contacting family by phone,” he said at the time. “Me and my wives have done a couple of conference calls and we’ll probably do more where we update each other on everything going on within our family.”
