Six people reportedly killed in Cork plane crash
A plane travelling from Belfast crashed at Cork Airport in the Republic of Ireland on Thursday, aviation officials at the airport said.
The flight carrying 10 passengers crashed on a runway while attempting to land, resulting in six deaths. Two other passengers are reported to be trapped inside the aircraft still.
A statement by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) informs that the flight crashed during a second attempt to land on Runway 17.
There is a fire and debris has been scattered onto the runway and over a wide area. The accident will be investigated by the Air Accident Unit of the Dept. of Transport, the statement said.
No further details of injuries or fatalities are available currently.
