Is ‘SNL’ Live Tonight? Next Host, Musical Guest Revealed
“Saturday Night Live” has not been new for the past two weeks, but it finally returns Nov. 4. Season 43 of the NBC variety show has an all-new episode on Saturday.
Following Kumail Nanjiani’s hosting debut last month, “SNL” invited a more experienced comedian to take on hosting duties this week. Larry David will be leading the sketch comedy show. The actor also hosted in February 2016.
Of course, David appeared more than once in Season 41. “Saturday Night Live” utilized the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor several times during the presidential primaries. David has a spot-on Bernie Sanders impression that’s sure to be highlighted in this week’s episode again.
Joining David will be Miley Cyrus as the musical guest. The 24-year-old has appeared on “SNL” several times before, but this is the first time appearing solely as a musical act. Of course, knowing the singer’s acting background, it’s entirely possible that she’ll pop up in one of the skits.
The “Voice” coach will perform two songs. Her latest album, “Younger Now,” was released earlier this year, and both the title track and “Malibu” have been released as singles. Those seem like the most likely options for her performances, but Cyrus could also take the opportunity to perform another track off the new album.
The singer seems excited to be on “SNL” with David. She posted a photo to Twiter, writing that she “couldn’t wait to be reunited” with the comedian. She wore a “Curb Your Enthusiasm” shirt in the photo. The show recently returned to HBO for Season 9 after being on hiatus since 2011.
As previously reported, November will be filled with “Saturday Night Live” episodes. After David and Cyrus’s episode, “Girls Trip” star Tiffany Haddish and Taylor Swift will appear in the Nov. 18 episode. Chance the Rapper will host while Eminem performs on Nov. 25. Then “SNL” will go on hiatus again for Thanksgiving. The hiatus won’t be long, though. December will bring more laughs before the holiday break.
“Saturday Night Live” airs on NBC Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. EDT, 10:30 p.m. CDT, 9:30 MDT and 8:30 PDT with replays at 11:30 p.m. for those in both MDT and PDT.
