Is ‘SNL’ New Tonight? What To Watch On May 16
It’s been a while since “Saturday Night Live” was broadcast from Studio 8H, but fans have been enjoying the pre-taped “SNL At Home” in recent weeks. Unfortunately, they won’t be getting any more episodes this spring. “SNL” is not new tonight.
NBC aired the “SNL” Season 45 finale last week. The episode featured Kristen Wiig as host with special guests such as Tina Fey and Martin Short. Check out the best sketches from the episode.
While “SNL” is not new tonight, there is plenty to watch. These movies will air on TV tonight, and they feature some very familiar faces.
- Chris Farley and David Spade star in the 1995 hit “Tommy Boy,” which will start at 10 p.m. EDT on Comedy Central. After his father’s death, Tommy is determined to make his dad’s auto parts factory succeed.
- The original 1984 “Ghostbusters,” featuring “SNL” alums like Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd and others, will air at 10:30 p.m. EDT on CMT. Unemployed professors develop the technology to fight ghosts and find a whole supernatural world in New York City in this flick.
- “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” stars two former “SNL” hosts, Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, and it plays on USA Network at 10:50 p.m. EDT. The 2017 action-comedy follows an assassin and the bodyguard who has to protect him. It is rated R.
- Mike Myers leads the hilarious cast of the animated movie “Shrek,” which will be broadcast on Freeform at 11:30 p.m. EDT. The movie follows an ogre who has to rescue a princess.
- Chevy Chase stars in the 1983 movie “Vacation” on IFC at 12:15 a.m. EDT. The Griswold family is headed on a cross country road trip that turns out to be a lot more than they bargained for in this R-rated comedy.
An “SNL” rerun will also air on NBC at 11:30 p.m. EDT. The network will rebroadcast the first “At Home” episode, which featured Tom Hanks as host and originally aired on April 11.
