'SNL': Pete Davidson Takes A Dig At His Own Met Gala Outfit [Video]
Pete Davidson took a dig at his own 2021 Met Gala outfit during his recent "Saturday Night Live" episode on the NBC network.
In his appearance on the Oct. 2 episode of SNL's "Weekend Update," Davidson told his co-host Colin Jost, "It was amazing. I got to go to the coolest event of the year, and I can now say I've been in a museum."
The 27-year-old comedian further noted jokingly that he has no clue why people were making fun of his outfit as he found his Met Gala look really "cool." In fact, the comedian compared his look with James Bond.
"I look like James Bond at his quinceañera. I look like if one of the three blind mice sold fentanyl," he added.
Davidson, who wore a nun-like dress on the red carpet at the Met Gala event, explained how he loves to make his uncles uncomfortable.
"The truth is I already wear a dress and paint my nails sometimes just because I love making my uncles uncomfortable," he said. "When my Uncle Steve saw it, he was like, 'Hey I don't get it, but whatever makes you happy. You're still welcome in my house, I'll just put the seat down when you're over.'"
A user took to Twitter to share the segment’s video clip.
The comedian also noted how his uncle presumes that others might assume that Davidson is gay, just because he donned a dress instead of a suit. He explained that his uncle grew up in the '80s and addressed that generation as "homophobic."
"All the songs were about the boys and how they're back in town," he added. "Also his favorite movie is 'Top Gun.' That's as close to a movie about men being in love with each other that the '80s allowed. It's like 'Brokeback' in the sky."
He also compared his Met Gala outfit with British actress Tilda Swinton saying, "I look like Tilda Swinton on casual Friday."
The comedian is a regular on the TV series, "Saturday Night Live" from 2014. Considering his upcoming projects, he will be next seen in a movie, "Meet Cute."
Davidson will also feature in a movie, "Good Mourning with a U," which is currently under post-production and slated to release next year.
