Is ‘SNL’ On Tonight? 6 Things To Watch On April 20
“Saturday Night Live” is not new tonight. NBC’s sketch comedy show is on hiatus for a couple of weeks, but there are still things for “SNL” fans to watch on TV on April 20.
“You Don’t Mess With The Zohan” (11 p.m. EDT, Comedy Central) Alum Adam Sandler will host “SNL” when it returns on May 4, so get ready for his new episode with this 2008 comedy. Israeli soldier Zohan leaves home to become a hair stylist in New York, but his nemesis, The Phantom (John Turturro), isn’t done with him yet.
“The Holiday” (11 p.m. EDT, E!) All four of the stars in this holiday rom-com have hosted “Saturday Night Live.” Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jude Law have each appeared on the NBC sketch show as has Jack Black, who has served as both host and musical guest. In the film, Winslet and Diaz’s characters switch houses for a much needed holiday vacation, and they find love abroad.
“Beverly Hills Cop” (10:30 p.m. EDT, VH1) “SNL” vet Eddie Murphy stars as a cop who watches his best friend get killed. Against orders, he follows the investigation to California to find the murderer.
“Why Him?” (10:30 p.m. EDT, FXX) James Franco has hosted “Saturday Night Live” a handful of times. In this comedy, Franco stars as a Silicon Valley millionaire, but he’s socially awkward and loves to overshare. His girlfriend’s overprotective father (Bryan Cranston) freaks out when Laird wants to propose.
“The Break-up” (11:30 p.m. EDT, CMT) Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn have both popped up on “SNL” many times over the years. They star as a married couple who are getting divorced, but neither wants to move out of the condo. They become roommates and try to subtly drive each other out of the home.
“Saturday Night Live” (11:30 p.m. EDT, NBC) “SNL” fans can always watch a rerun. NBC will rebroadcast John Mulaney’s episode from earlier this year, which features several hilarious sketches. Thomas Rhett served as musical guest.
“SNL” returns to NBC with new episodes on May 4. Adam Sandler will host while Shawn Mendes performs. It’ll be the beginning of the final three episodes. The “Saturday Night Live” Season 44 finale will air May 18.
