‘Snooki & JWOWW’ Renewed by MTV For Season 3; MTV Greenlights 'Scream' TV Series Pilot
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi’s 15 minutes of fame aren't up, yet -- the former “Jersey Shore” reality star and her equally infamous co-star, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, were signed on by MTV this week to star in the third season of their spin-off series, “Snooki & JWOWW.”
MTV announced the renewal on Thursday during an upfront event for the network, saying they're excited for fans to see the two reality stars as they venture in a new chapter of their lives; fans will get to see Snooki, 25, as a new time mom, and Farley, 27, as a recently engaged bride-to-be.
According to the network, the series second season placed first in its 10 p.m. Thursday night time slot for the 12-34 age demographic.
Polizzi, who was on hand to help the network celebrate the announcement, told Celebuzz she was pleased to continue filming the series.
“I’m so excited. Thank you guys. And it’s really just because of you guys, the fans, because you guys tune in and you helped us out to get a season 3, so thank you,” Polizzi, who said the season will contain the usual antics that fans enjoy, said.
“I’m excited for you guys to see Lorenzo, now, he’s 8 months. You’re going to get to see him grow up with me. You’re going to get to see me and Jenni being best friend, doing silly things,” Polizzi said.
Farley tweeted her excitement for the upcoming season, posting a picture of her sporting a shocked face, announcing that the series has yet to begin shooting.
“Jersey Shore” alums are not the only ones set to dominate the future MTV airwaves, the network greenlighting a pilot based off of the horror blockbuster “Scream” films.
MTV will be teaming up with Dimension Film’s to produce the one-hour pilot which is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2014. “Scream” director, Wes Craven, is in negotiations to direct the show, but the network has yet to hire any writers for the horror reimagining.
The latest “Scream” installment, “Scream 4,” was released in 2011 and grossed more than $97 million at the box office worldwide.
