The rift between rappers Eminem and Snoop Dogg seemed to be catching fire after the “I Wanna Thank Me” rapper responded to Eminem’s recent diss.
Snoop has been sharing some cryptic posts on his social media account and it is speculated to be aimed at the “Zeus” singer. The rap battle of sorts started with Snoop leaving Eminem out of his top 10 rappers’ list, according to TMZ. Eminem apparently responded to Snoop with his track “Zeus.”
“And as far as squashin' beef, I'm used to people knockin' me. But, just not in my camp. I'm diplomatic, 'cause I'm tryna be. The last thing I need is Snoop doggin' me. Man, dog, you were like a damn God to me. Man, not really. I had dog backward, but I’m starting to think, all these people takin’ shots at me, s***, it’s no wonder.” Eminem raps in the song that was released as a part of the deluxe version of his album titled “Music to Be Murdered By - Side B.”
Recently, Snoop Dogg shared a message on his Instagram that read, “Back in the day, if someone hated you, it meant you did something WRONG. Nowadays, it means you did something RIGHT.” He added the caption “Carry On.”
While Snoop refrained from adding references to the post, many outlets are speculating it could be directed towards Eminem.
Another post by Snoop read: “People who can't communicate think everything is an argument."
Back in July, Snoop released the names of His Top 10 Rappers of All-Time List. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Snoop called Eminem “The Great White Hope” and gave the credit for his successful career to Dr. Dre.
"Eminem! The Great White Hope. White rappers had zero respect for rap. Let's keep that one thou wow," Snoop Dogg said. "[Dr. Dre] has probably put Eminem in the position that he would be considered one of the top 10 rappers ever. I don't think so, but the game thinks that he's top 10 lyricists and everything that comes with it. That's just because he's with Dr. Dre."
As per TMZ, both the rappers have not only performed together but were also close to Dr. Dre.
