‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Season 14 Spoilers: Kaylee Millis Reveals Why She Auditioned For Show

A 19-year-old dancer named Kaylee Millis will be auditioning in “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14.

While speaking with Cambridge Wicked Local, the teenage performer said that she immediately fell in love with dancing after attending one class at Pembroke School of Performing Arts. When she got home, Millis told her parents that dancing is all she ever wants to do. She was 8 at that time.

Her audition in front of judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Vanessa Hudgens will air on FOX on Monday, June 26. Talking about the experience of being part of “So You Think You Can Dance,” Millis said, “I’ve been watching the show since I was a little kid. I’ve seen such amazing dancers come out of the show. I always thought, ‘I’m going to do that someday.’”

When she finally started learning dance regularly, the styles that she focused on were jazz and ballet. But through the years, the Kingston native experimented with hip-hop and contemporary movements. By the looks of it, this is the type of dancing Millis showed the three judges on her audition day. Unfortunately, she cannot reveal any information about her actual performance or even the result of her audition.

“When you see me dance, I basically go from really big movements to all of a sudden very small, intricate, almost conversational movements and that’s what really shapes my dancing to become my own,” she said.

Meanwhile, Millis also used dance as a form of expressing herself. Growing up, she felt she was different from her peers. “A big thing that I stand for is being able to relate to as many different people as possible regardless of sexuality, race, how you dress, whatever, where you live. I’m really into speaking to the underdog, making sure that people understand that if you love something enough and are willing to put everything into it that the outcome sooner or later will be successful,” she concluded.

“So You Think You Can Dance” Season 14 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
