‘Sofia The First’ Casts ‘True Blood’ Star Anna Camp; See First Photo From ‘The Curse Of Princess Ivy’
"True Blood's" Sarah Newlin might finally get a happily ever after -- well, at least her portrayer Anna Camp might in her latest acting gig. Camp will be voicing a Disney princess in Disney Junior’s “Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy,” TVLine reported. Take a look at the first picture of the character below:
It sounds like Princess Ivy might be a little controlling and evil, much like Camp’s “True Blood” character. But that's not the only "True Blood" similarity -- she even loves the color scheme from the hit HBO series, which aired its series finale on Aug. 24. Ivy wants the entire kingdom of Enchancia to be turned black and white (apparently her rubies are an exception to the rule), and she will do anything it takes to enforce her will upon the kingdom. It’s up to Sofia and Amber to talk some sense into Ivy before she destroys Enchancia.
The Disney Junior show will be Camp’s first experience voicing an animated character, but she joins plenty of primetime TV veterans on the show. Sofia is voiced by “Modern Family’s” Ariel Winter and Queen Miranda is played by “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Sara Ramirez.
“Sofia The First: The Curse of Princess Ivy” will be a primetime special on Disney Channel in November. The kids might not be impressed by a “True Blood” star, but there is another guest star that will excite them: Rapunzel from “Tangled.” (No word yet on if Mandy Moore is voicing the role.)
“Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy” will air on Disney Channel is November, and regular episodes of “Sofia the First” air every day at 10:30 a.m. EDT on Disney Channel. Will you be tuning in to see Camp as Princess Ivy? Sound off in the comments section below!
