Somali Rebels Say Obama's Whereabouts Is Worth 10 Camels, Clinton's 20 Chickens
Less than a week after the State Department put a $33 million bounty out for the capture of six high-ranking Somali rebels, al Shabaab has retaliated by offering its own reward for President Barack Obama.
The price? Al Shabaab is offering 10 camels for information on the location of Obama, and 10 chickens and 10 hens to anyone who can locate Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Whoever brings the mujahadeen information about the whereabouts of infidel Obama and the lady of Bill Clinton, the woman named Hillary Clinton, I will give a reward, Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, al Shabaab's chief fundraiser, said in a recorded message, according to the AFP.
The U.S. has a $5 million reward out for Khalaf's capture.
The State Department believes that the al Qaida-backed al Shabaab, which was put on the Foreign Terrorist Organization list in 2008, is responsible for killing thousands of Somali civilians, Somali peace activists, international aid workers, journalists and African Union peacekeepers over the past six years.
On Monday, when asked about al Shabaab's camel offering during a press conference in Mogadishu, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson said that the question is so absurd it does not deserve a response.
