Sony To Unveil A Pink Xperia Handset Tomorrow

Sony is apparently gearing up to introduce a brand new Xperia handset tomorrow i.e. Jan. 12. The Japanese tech giant has been uploading a slew of teasers in Pink hue via its Instagram account. Hence, it goes without saying that the upcoming device will be made available in the niche Pink color.

While some tech portals are suggesting the Pink variant will be that of the flagship Sony Xperia Z5, others seem to think it could be the mid-range Sony Xperia C6. Going by the leaked image uploaded in Weixin (attached above), the Pink colored exterior looks more of the now-famous “Rose Gold” than the typical “Pink.”

Moving on to a related news, a recent report from a Chinese source pointed out that Sony is working on a new handset called “Xperia Z6 Lite.” Upon release, this device will join the upcoming Xperia Z6 series, which includes the 5.2-inch display clad flagship, a 4.6-inch Xperia Z6 Compact, a 5.8-inch screen clad Xperia Z6 Plus and a gigantic 6.4-inch Xperia Z6 Ultra.

The same source had listed a few Xperia Z6 Lite specifications, along with possible price and release date. The configurations include a pocket-friendly 5.0-inch display and the handset will reportedly come powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 SoC. The S650 was initially known as Snapdragon 618.

This budget-friendly smartphone will apparently set the buyers back by just $385. Speaking of release date, “May 2016” has been tipped as the possible timeframe.
