HYBE recently released the official poster for “In The Soop: Friendcation,” which will premiere on Disney+ on July 22.
Fans are very much excited to see the reunion of their favorite “Wooga Squad” — formed by the cast of the South Korean drama series “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth.” The Wooga Squad was admired for having such a close relationship despite the members' busy schedules.
But before binge-watching the “In The Soop” spinoff, here are some facts about the members of the Wooga Squad to get to know them better.
1. Park Seo Joon
Park Seo Joon is no stranger to all the South Korean drama fans out there because he reigns as the “King” of k-drama rom-com. Aside from his undeniable charms, he’s never failed to make fans laugh out loud with his iconic lines and relatable characters. He starred in the series “Fight For My Way,” “She Was Pretty,” “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” and many more.
Seo Joon is also one of the most successful showbiz personalities in South Korea. He’s the first Asian to model for Tommy Hilfiger. He has also reached the international acting scene, and fans can see him in the most-awaited Marvel movie “Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels.”
2. Choi Woo Shik
Choi Woo Shik has been in the acting industry since 2010, but he’s most famous for his role in the Academy Award-winning South Korean film “Parasite.” It was released in 2019 and praised by fans and movie critics from all over the world for its exceptional plot.
Choi also starred in blockbuster movies such as “Train to Busan” and “Okja,” and recently finished the coming-of-age drama “Our Beloved Summer” that premiered on Netflix.
3. Park Hyung Sik
Park Hyung Sik is a multi-talented star who can act, sing and dance. He used to be a member of now-disbanded South Korean boyband ZE:A under Star Empire Entertainment. In 2017, he left to sign with a new agency and pursue a career in acting.
Aside from starring in “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth,” fans can also catch him in the famous romance-comedy drama “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon,” thriller drama "Happiness" and the Korean adaptation of “Suits.”
4. Peakboy
Peakboy, full name Kwon Seonghwan, is famous in the South Korean music scene as a singer and rapper. His soothing vocals swooned fans when he released the singles “Anywhere,” “Walk,” “Kelly” and many more. His first album “Us” was released in 2019.
Apart from creating music, Peakboy is busy with his YouTube channel where he shares daily vlogs about his life. He currently has 131,000 subscribers. Fans can check out his YouTube account here.
5. Kim Taehyung aka “V”
Of course, we can’t forget BTS member Kim Taehyung, famously known as V. Alongside his members, they have dominated the American Billboard music charts with their inspirational music and catchy beats. Their hit songs include “Fake Love,” “ON,” “Dynamite,” “Butter” and many more. V has captured the hearts of the ARMY because of his husky singing voice, smooth dance moves, and fun character. He was the last member to be revealed by BigHit Entertainment when they debuted in 2013.
