South Carolina Couple Held For Having Sex on Ferris Wheel at Myrtle Beach

A married couple from South Carolina has been charged with indecent exposure after they filmed themselves having sex on a Ferris wheel in Myrtle Beach.

Eric and Lori Harmon allegedly had sex while riding the SkyWheel, an oceanfront Ferris, which is one of the biggest tourist attractions in North America. According to the police, the couple uploaded a video on porn sites that showed them having sex inside a glass gondola that was in public view.

Police said the couple have been arrested following the incident that happened on Jan. 12, said a report by New York Daily News.

However, SkyWheel officials said they were not aware of the incident and do not tolerate such behavior at their tourist attraction spot.

"SkyWheel Myrtle Beach prides ourselves in providing a safe, family-friendly attraction and atmosphere. This incident that we are just becoming aware of is extremely disturbing. We have not been notified yet from the authorities regarding this incident, but are ready to cooperate in any way we can. These actions do not reflect our values, and we do not tolerate any behavior that does not coincide with our family-friendly environment,” the statement said.

Myrtle Beach police records show that the couple was arrested on Saturday and could face three years in prison if convicted. However, Lori was released Sunday on $18,000 bond, and her husband Eric was released the same day on $14,000 bond.

The report added that the couple has similar charges against them in the past, which included two counts of indecent exposure, two counts of participation in obscene material. Also, there is a property damage case against Lori. Officers had also charged Eric with indecent exposure and two counts of participation in obscene material.

Earlier in December 2020, the couple had posted a video on several porn sites that showed them having sex in a community pool, according to the Horry Country Police. During that incident, Lori also allegedly urinated on two vending machines, the police stated.

“The actions were recorded by both defendant and co-defendant and uploaded to the adult web site during Christmas break, on or about Dec. 23, 2020,” the officer wrote in the report.

In 2019, Police had arrested a man and his girlfriend for having sex on a Ferris wheel tourist attraction 150 feet above downtown Cincinnati. Police said the couple’s sex romp took place in front of children among others.
