South Korean Halloween Disaster: 146 Killed, Over 150 Injured At Festivities In Seoul
Officials in South Korea say that at least 146 people have died and 150 are injured in a crush Saturday night during Halloween festivities in a popular nightlife area in Seoul.

Yonhap News Agency reported that rescuers tried to pull people trapped beneath others during the stampede in the popular nightlife neighborhood of Itaewon. People were reportedly crushed to death after a large crowd began pushing forward on a narrow street. The fire department stated of those confirmed dead, 46 are at a local hospital, and the remainder are at a nearby gymnasium.

South Korea's President Yoon Suk-yeol called an emergency meeting after the incident, which has not been explained.
More than 400 emergency workers from around the nation were deployed to the scene to treat the injured, with many victims suffering from cardiac arrest.
There were reportedly 100,000 people celebrating in the area.

There have been local media reports of a large number of people rushing to a nearby bar in a narrow ally way after news of an unidentified celebrity sighting.
