Kathryn Dennis recently shared her frustrations over the custody arrangement she shares with ex-boyfriend Thomas Ravenel.
The "Southern Charm" star took to Instagram Stories Thursday to post a graphic from an account called One Mom's Battle. The message seemed to reflect her displeasure over the ruling in her custody battle with her ex over their two children, daughter Kensie, 7, and son Saint, 5, Us Weekly reported.
“It is exhausting to constantly defend yourself from someone who is trying to change reality — it can even make you question what you know happened, or what is true,” the post read. “It can be exhausting to live two lives: one for your children and for the world (everything is fine) and the other, where you are beaten down by the family court system. We see you and we stand with you. You are not alone.”
Dennis and Ravenel had an on-again, off-again relationship for two years before calling it quits for good in 2016.
Dennis first lost custody of their kids following their split because of her struggle with substance abuse. The reality star checked into treatment and later filed for joint custody.
In "Southern Charm's" 2018 season finale, it was revealed that she was granted 50/50 custody with her ex.
Three months later, however, she filed for sole custody after Ravenel was arrested for assault and battery related to an alleged encounter with the kids' former nanny in 2015. After the case was settled, a judge ruled that Ravenel could continue to share joint custody with Dennis.
The arrangement changed once more in March, when Dennis temporarily lost custody after a hearing and was granted supervised weekend visitation with her children.
"I can confirm the information released last week that Ms. Dennis currently has weekend, daytime supervised visitation with the parties’ minor children and that Mr. Ravenel plans to relocate with the children to Aiken, South Carolina this summer," Ravenel's lawyer told People in a statement on March 9.
The attorney continued, "Due to the sensitive nature of the issues involved, all documents in this case have been sealed, meaning the public cannot access them, and neither Mr. Ravenel, Ms. Dennis, nor their respective attorneys are permitted to release them to third parties."
"As such, and in keeping with the spirit of the protective order, I will not go into detail regarding the circumstances that necessitated the changes to the parties’ custodial arrangement," the lawyer added.
Dennis has since moved on with new beau Chleb Ravenell. The couple celebrated one year of dating last month.
"12 months down," she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself in a black dress while posing with Ravenell inside a Charleston, South Carolina, nightclub.
Meanwhile, Ravenel — no relation to Dennis' current boyfriend — is engaged to Heather Mascoe. The pair share son Jonathan, 13 months.
